Got Jesus?

Who am I and what is my philosophy on life, business, web site marketing and stuff?

I am 46, married, no children. Moved to Ft Lauderdale Florida Dec, 1978.

Like christian business men everywhere I seek God's guidance and wisdom in all my business and personal affairs. Christains are not perfect in everyway, at least I'm not, but I do live by faith and trust in God's grace and forgiveness.

On February 19, 1979 I met a guy on the Ft Lauderdale strip who said to me "Hi, I'm Wayne Lundy, you know Jesus Loves You?" Yep, I listened to what he had to say and I've been a follower of Jesus Christ 27 years now. (Thanks Wayne! Hope your still going strong!)

My internet adventures began late in 1997 when I gave up my Amiga 2000 for a PC Pentium II 90mz running windows 95. It cost $700 if memory serves me, which was more than all I had. Fortunately a friend, Bryan Emory, put it together for me and let me pay/work off the rest doing web design.

Early in 1998 I found a course on Search Engine Optimization and applied what I learned. I've been making a living from the internet ever since. One of the best ways to make money online is to become an affiliate, and promote someones products or services for a commission. This is what I have done.

The last couple of years the mortgage industry has been my main focus and income. Adwords PPC, Adsense and information products also play a big part in my internet marketing strategy.

My plans for my this website are still evolving, but as well as selling my products, content is one of my pet peeves. As much as is possible, a site should have good, quality, free content.

Something that is informative and helpful to the visitor. Sure you can sell info too. I'm just saying that if you have a reputation of providing good content and information, people will appreciate that and probably purchase from you when finances permit.

Ever do a search and find one website after another that only has Adsense ads and links to other sites? These site pretend to be resource directories but have no real content of their own. They simply exist in the hopes of getting you to click on the adsense advertising.

Google is to blame! Yep, the search results are full of Adsense Spam websites and Goooooogle is at the core of the problem we have in the search engines today.

I see so many garbage sites out there now that have nothing of substance to offer, and who's only purpose in existance is to get you to click on the Google Adsense links so they can make a few cents. Can you say Opportunist?

If your going use adsense on your site, fine, just make sure the site is a real site that offers something of value. Content, news, reports, forums, blogs, product reviews, something real and useful.

OK, enough for now!

God Bless,
Tom
