Google Adwords Battles Click Fraud
With any PPC program you are in the danger zone where you have to pay per click. Anyone that clicks on your link will cost you the amount you bid for that term. Google Adwords is just this kind of target. Is there any doubt that your competition is clicking on your link?
Any of your AdWords competitors could be, and probably are, driving up your CPA and Google can't stop them unless they are very obvious about what they are doing. Google says they have safe guards in place to prevent this and are even proactive in refunds when they detect it. To their credit I have seen small refunds almost monthly so they do watch, but you can bet they don't catch all the click fraud.
The battle against click fraud should start in your own control panel and logs. If the real statistics were known bout how much click fraud clickers were costing advertisers I wonder the lawsuits would pile up fast.
Look around for a company that specializes in click fraud detection, it will be well worth it.
